Where I want
to go
There’s only one country that I take
interest to travel to which is Japan or the other name for it called country of
the rising sun. I learn a lot about Japan through its art culture and
literature such as anime, manga and novel. With that as the source I can
imagine different country than my own which is more beautiful and advanced from
my own viewpoint. One of the reasons I was interested in Japan because of its
four seasons and the beautiful image of landscape in each season. Let's start with spring first and end it in winter.
In spring (Haru), we can see the
flower blooms everywhere especially the cherry blossom or the Japanese native
call it Sakura. The duration of the
sakura blooming is only 2 weeks at most and its begin around the end of April
and finish in middle of May. The local people celebrate the blooming of sakura
flower with their family or friends to go on a picnic under the shade of sakura
tree. Their reason is to view the magnificent scenery (Hanami) while they eat
lunch box (Bento) and drink alcohol (Sake) in a cheer atmosphere.
In summer (Natsu), we can hear the
distinct sound of cicada chirping as wakeup calls which signify that summer has
arrive. The meaning of summer for some people especially the younger one
centered on summer festival (Matsuri) includes wearing yukata, trying all kind
of stall, and viewing fireworks (Hanabi). This festive occasion is organized at
different scale in each city and it usually goes from evening until midnight.
There are also splitting watermelon event in the beach and ghost story telling
event for the teenager.
In fall (Aki), we can enjoy the breathtaking
sight of the falling maple leaves that cover the background in a beautiful red
colors. Like in every season, there is also a couple of event in fall season
which consist of sport festival (Undou-Kai), moon viewing (Tsukimi), and
harvest celebration. If you’re visiting Japan at fall don’t be surprised if you
see bunch of children boys and girls dress up in kimono and hakama to celebrate
their growth in the shrine. They’re usually buy long stick candy (Chitose-Ame)
which represent longevity.
In winter (Fuyu), we can sense the
air getting colder every passing day until snow fall and make the whole scenery
sparkling white. At this particular season, the native celebrate the coming of
the year by visiting the shrine and pray. They’re also sending New Year’s card
to every relative or friends which in my opinion are very thoughtful. There is
also event being held for individuals who have reached the age of majority (20
years) to encourage them as adults in society.
Well, I can still mention many
things that interest me about Japan but for this time. I think the season and
event on Japan is more than enough to fill you, on why I can’t help to wanting
to travel there and sightseeing till my heart content. I hope you can
understand a little about the beauty and how attractive this country is to me
as the author.
